Department Profile

                     The Dept of Physical Education established during the year 1985-86. The college previously located in the Government junior college BHEEMUNIPATNAM buildings in the bheemunipatnam town up to 1997 since the college shifted to the present campus. The college is having nearly 10 acres, play ground facility is about 5 acres  . The Dept function in the ground Floor of the Science Block in the college campus . The college games & sports teams participated in the various tournaments  & selection trails under the auspices of the Andhra University  Visakhapatnam. The Department is also proud to have organized various tournaments which is not only improve the sporting talent of the students but also help  the students to improve upon their organization and leader ship qualities.

The Department of physical education organized coaching camps in the college campus for talented sports persons and sent the players to participate in the coaching camps conducted by the Andhra University and  other recognized  sports bodies. We provide playing materials and uniforms to the players selected to represent the college team .There is a multipurpose play ground on the college campus for Cricket,, Volleyball , Ballbadmention, and Athletic events. Modern facilities for physical conditioning are available at Gym along with multi stationary gym equipment .We also provide facilities for chess and caroms ,both intramural and extramural competitions are planned in such a way that students are able to participate regularly in games & sports activities throughout  the year. Approximately 10 teams both men & women participate in the tournaments organized by the Andhra University.

The college is affiliated to the Andhra University and the college teams participate in the University Intercollegiate tournaments and selection trails.

Vision :

 In line with the college Mission the department of physical education  has the aim of Educate the students through Physical activities to produce quality sports persons , healthy citizens to serve as good citizens in the society as well as to develop quality leadership and administration abilities. By sporting facilities and serve to the college and local community .We pledge to continually strive for sports excellence and to maintain the good condition of the play ground.

 Mission :

1. To produce healthy citizens for  the society by   motivating  the students to   participate  in the physical activity regularly .

2.To promote health through specific physical activities.

3.To provide Audio- Visual aids to teams to teach different skills and strategies’  in various games & sports .

4.To conduct different levels of tournaments in various games & sports in the college campus to develop the sports awareness among the students as well as local people.

5. To organize different tournaments both intramurals and extramural competitions  to develop the qualities like sportsman sprit and socialization and administration ability of the students.
