The Department of English was established on 20th December 1984. Many eminent scholars and experienced faculty worked here and they left foot prints for the upcoming faculty members.Now the Department of English has well learned and experienced in varuious aspects such as university education,under graduate and technical exposure.The department of English plays vital role in moulding JKC students to face various challenges in their professional life.The Department works towards the holistic growth of its students with its insistence on paying close attention to the students' mental, emotional and intellectual well-being.

Teaching methods adopted to improve student learning:

• Power point presentation is given to improve students' learning
  
• Regular seminars are organised to improve speaking skills
  
• Project works are assigned to develop research skills
  
• Assignments are given to improve writing skills
  
• Work shops and role plays are organised to improve the skills
